A recent story of a Malaysian girl attempting to jump off a flyover has been making rounds on the internet.
The 16 year-old was reported by several motorists near the KL-Karak Highway near Bukit Tinggi and we’re glad that the Bukit Tinggi police station chief Sergeant Major Maznan Omar came to her rescue just in time.

According to sources, a police team managed to arrive at the scene and calm the girl down.
The Fire and Rescue Department was also spotted there, spreading a salvage sheet in case she jumped.
In the video clip posted on Facebook Page Info Roadblock JPJ/Polis, the sergeant can be seen slowly approaching the girl from the back and pulling her away from the edge of the flyover to safety.
Investigations revealed that the girl, who had been in the middle of getting treatment for depression, couldn’t control her emotions after her father scolded her for spending too much time playing games on the phone and confiscated it.
She was later taken to the hospital for further treatment.
We’re glad that she’s safe and sound. While some of us may not find the story convincing enough, let’s not forget that depression is a silent killer.
Here are some mental health helplines you can contact in times of need. It’s never too late to ask for or offer help.
Times are hard, let’s be there for each other. #StaySafe
