From the continuation of a story that you love, to seeing your favourite character(s) on the TV screen again, if you’ve ever been in love with a TV series, then surely, you’re familiar with the excitement that a brand new season brings.
For us, that TV series is Westworld and we couldn’t be more excited that we’re only a couple of weeks [will edit this bit depending on when the article goes up] away from the second season premiere on 23rd April at 9am with same day encore at 10pm on Astro HBO (CH411/CH431 HD; also available on Astro GO and On Demand).
If you don’t know what Westworld is all about, here’s a spoiler-free introduction to this hit HBO TV series.
Westworld is set in a technologically advanced future where the Westworld theme park offers its visitors the opportunity to indulge in whatever they wish within the park without fear of retaliation by its inhabitants—human-looking androids called ‘hosts’. The series opens when a routine update in the hosts’ programming caused strange behaviours in them, with some – such as Dolores Abernathy (played by Evan Rachel Wood), the oldest host still working in the park – learning the truth about themselves and their world.
Here are a few reasons that got us hyped that we think will get you just as excited…
#1 The world gets bigger

Season 2 of Westworld will not only feature multiple parks in Westworld, but will also introduce a second world! We won’t spoil the reveal for you, but let’s just say it’s Japanese-themed and the inhabitants of this new world are even more violent.
#2 Our favourite characters return alongside some new faces

The second season will see the addition of some new characters such as military officer Craddock (played by Jonathan Tucker), Nicholas (played by Neil Jackson) a charmer in unchartered territory, field operative Karl Strand (played by Gustaf Skarsgård), and more.

Of course, our favourite characters from the first season will also be returning. Among them are Dolores Abernathy, Maeve Millay (played by Thandie Newton), Bernard Lowe (played by Jeffrey Wright), and Teddy Flood (played by James Marsden).
#3 We get to watch it the same time as the US!

We’re all smiles! No more worrying about accidentally reading about spoilers while browsing the web!
#4 There’s a possibility of watching it early!
