Some of us work far away from home and in the rush of packing and leaving for our hometowns; we tend to forget important things at the last minute. Before you travel, be sure to have these checked!

1. Music

All your favourite music playing while you’re on the road for hours… it can really help to elevate your mood, especially when traffic is bad. Bad traffic and bad weather can really affect our mood and we wouldn’t want to make it worse by listening to some bad music as well, right? Create your playlist now before taking the wheel!

2. Packing: Extra Clothes! Extra Clothes! Extra Clothes!

No, we’re not going to ask you to travel light like others do… you never know what sudden plans would pop up during festive seasons and you don’t want to be underdressed when you meet all your long-lost relatives! Pack a few extra clothes just in case. This way, you also don’t have to worry about doing your laundry in a hurry because you’ll have that one extra outfit! Smart! However, make sure they aren’t heavy materials that require a lot of space.

3. Check off-peak hours

Heavy traffic during holidays is usually… pretty unavoidable. But, if you can get to a place in 3 hours rather than 4, why not choose the first option? Always check your travel timings before you head to any destination.

4. Come back a day before work

Especially if you have kids who need to go to school, you might want to consider coming back a day before school starts- at least you would have some time to do the laundry, get ready for work and most importantly, REST. You would definitely need some rest after all the festivities!

5. Just stay safe and have fun!

Everything checked, what’s more? Just remember to be safe. That’s it.

Have a happy holiday! What are some of the things on your checklist when you’re travelling?
