You say it best, when you say nothing at all…

We all have at least one friend in every group, who just listens. That one person who doesn’t say anything unless, he or she REALLY has to! While most of us wonder why this person is so quiet, what we fail to realize is the fact that he or she could just be enjoying the perks of being the ‘listener friend’! Let us tell you why.

1. Nobody questions them when something unwanted happens

Have you noticed that when something bad happens among friends, nobody really questions the ‘listener friend’? Well, that’s just because they rarely say anything and whatever happens will likely NOT be caused by what they might have said because…. they don’t say much anyway! That’s a good excuse to have!

2. They get to avoid  “crucial questions”

The question we all dread answering to, like “where to eat?”. Your ‘listener friends’ don’t have to think of where to eat, because they’re always chill and just follows the crowd.

3. They get the VIP treatment when they actually speak

This happens because they don’t always speak, but when they do… it has to be something really important and necessary. So they automatically get all the attention from every friend.

Despite the perks of being a ‘listener friend’, let’s not forget that there are also perks of HAVING a ‘listener friend’!

1. They’re always our ‘go-to’ person when we have a problem

We know that whenever we need a shoulder to lean on, we would always have that ‘listener friend’, because sometimes, we just want someone to listen, and not give unsolicited advice!

2.  They’re our trusted secret-keepers

This makes perfect sense. If they don’t even talk that much to close friends, what would make them talk about things they’re not supposed to? We know we can always talk about our problems to them without having the fear of “what if he/she tells someone else?”.

3. Less Opinions

Sometimes we need honest opinions from people, but having your ideas heavily criticized can also be a little frustrating. We just need someone who would just say, “try it!” without stopping us with hundreds of “what if-s”.

But whatever it is, friends are friends; no matter if they are introverts, extroverts or ambiverts! We love everyone, just as much as we love the quiet ones!
