You’re not clingy, you just really love your pet!

Being a pet owner comes with many responsibilities… but also a lot of perks. Can you imagine waking up to these adorable faces every day?

Your bond with your pet is a special one. You want to smother it with love and make sure it’s always happy (usually, this works by feeding them).

How attached do you think you are to your pet? Read these signs and see if you do any of them:

#1 You talk to your pet… ALL THE TIME

Who needs human roommates? Your pet is there to listen to you whine and let you chill with them when you need to de-stress. If they break something, you’d scold them like you’re talking to a child. You tell your pet your deepest, darkest secrets, and it’s OK if they don’t respond! It just means your pet understands you well… yep.

#2 Your pet has their own Instagram account

You take way too many pictures of your pet, and you want to show off your album to the world. So you make an Instagram account just for them! You get to post 20 different versions of your pet’s sleeping positions, and videos of tricks you’ve taught them to learn.

Oh, and your pet probably has more followers than you.

#3 You install a webcam to know what your pet is up to while you’re away

You get a little sad when you have to leave your pets for the day. Sure you’ve got their food covered, but they’re going to be so alone while you’re gone! And what if something happens to them?! So you decide to install a webcam in their playing areas. It’s not weird at all!

#4 You insist on having a video call with your pet when you’re away from home

You’re thousands of kilometres away from home and your parents make a Skype call with you. But wait—you want to talk to your pet first! You have priorities!

#5 Your pet disappears for more than 10 minutes and you’re already freaking out

You start calling your parents, printing up Missing Pet posters, going into your neighbours’ backyard to find them…

… until they suddenly show up in the kitchen waiting for you to feed them.

#6 Your pet has its own special corner in the house

It’s like a shrine for them. This is where you put a special bed for your pet, with pillows and plush toys for them to play with. They also have snacks laid out for them to eat and plenty of water. You love spoiling your pet and you’re proud of it.

#7 Your pets have their own custom-made merchandise!

You’re proud of being your pet’s owner and you want everyone to know it. You have shirts, mugs, and pillows with your pet’s face on them with different expressions! Even your friends love these ‘merchandises’ and you don’t mind giving them away as presents.

Do you love animals, and are you considering to adopt a cat?

Head on over to Sunway Putra Mall this 22 December for FURFEST 2018. The event is organised by Celcom in collaboration with University Malaya, which aims to promote animal welfare to the public! There’ll be fundraising event with all-day cat adoption and donation drive with fun activities for the family, such as cat clay making, and kids’ colouring contest.
