One amazing thing about kids is that they usually don’t think twice about taking risks… they just do it! An 8 year old girl’s quick thinking is being praised by netizens online.
The girl along with her two brothers were stuck in their apartment when it caught fire. Not knowing how else to escape, she threw a mattress out of the window in order to save herself and her brothers!

She daringly jumped and landed on the mattress but suffered a little injury on her ankle. The two boys, 2 and 4 respectively were rescued by the firefighters with a ladder who came just in time.

District Fire Chief Frank Velez didn’t recommend the ‘mattress move’, but was impressed by the girl’s presence of mind.
The fire department later reported it to be a kitchen fire. There were no adults in the apartment at the time of incident and there were no charges.
The children were rushed and transported to the hospital in “stable” condition and their parents have been contacted.
That’s such a heroic act! You go, girl!
