The pandemic has hit us hard and as we all adjust and learn to push past our individual struggle, a story like this comes along to put a smile on our faces…and present an invaluable life lesson.

A Texas attorney had a tough time figuring out how to turn off the cat filter on his virtual conference account, so he went on with it for his formal court hearing.

Attorney Rod Ponton said “I’m prepared to go forward with it” while explaining that he and his assistant didn’t know how to remove the filter. He had apparently logged on from his secretary’s computer. The incident happened before the 934th Judicial District Court and is now going viral.

With the ongoing pandemic, many professionals have moved to virtual meetings, which has made them adapt to changes and learn new skills along the way.

Attorney Rod has had his share of mishaps in the process of adapting with the videoconferencing world, but it is applaudable that the experiences didn’t stop him from getting his job done and making sure the legal process carries on despite everything that’s going on.

“When I logged in to Zoom for the hearing, to my great surprise I was a cat,” he said.

However, he was ready to go on for the hearing looking like a cat but he got some help before it began.

Judge Roy Ferguson added that the lawyer showed incredible grace and was very professional in ensuring the justice system continues to function in these tough times. He also suggested people to ensure filters are off (if their child used it before them) before appearing in court.

Side note to everyone trying their best daily to learn new things and make things work, kudos! You’re the real MVP!

Great example, Attorney Rod Ponton!
