Baby Under ‘Sleep-Training’ Won’t Stop Crying, New Parents Pen Apology Letter To Neighbours

No one can vouch for having the best parenting method because honestly, no two babies are the same and neither are their parents. 

So when these new parents’ baby didn’t stop crying at night, they felt really bad for disturbing the peace of their neighbours so they sent out letters to everyone. One of the neighbours shared the letter they received on Twitter, prompting others to share their views on the parents’ “cry it out” method. 

To those of you who may not know, the “cry it out” method is basically one where you let your baby cry until he/she falls asleep. While it will tire the baby out, it also tires the parents out equally too. 

The couple apologised to their neighbours and even offered to help in any way they can. Here’s the tweet.

Awww… 

The Twitter user felt sorry for them and baked them cookies but netizens were more concerned about two things; 

1. Showing support to the new parents 

2. Bashing them for using a ‘bad’ parenting technique

 

 

I saw someone had made a TikTok about how the Cry It Out method actually doesn’t work. That the reason why they stop crying is because they realize crying doesn’t get attention but the baby is still stressed. :( Also I don’t think they’d like knowing that since it tough for them.

many judgemental comments! there isn't a ziplock bag that comes out of a new mother w/ instructions on the one & only method 4 raising a child. with all due respect if u don't have anything positive 2 say then kindly stop commenting . I think this letter is very considerate.

I don't know a damn thing about keeping tiny humans alive, but the replies to this post are still annoying me.

Letting a kid cry but checking on them every 10 minutes to teach them they're not really alone sure doesn't sound like child abuse.

The mom is an open nerve right now. I feel her. My first slept through the night at 10 weeks. My twins didn’t sleep through the night for 10 months. Whatever she has to do to survive another day.

You do you. My mother used the cry it out method on me and my siblings when we were babies. None of us were traumatized, never once did I feel unloved or neglected. All 4 of us were deeply devoted & attached to our parents till the day they died. Poor attachment? Nah.

i know it’s not you but the cry-it-out method is horrible and causes a poor attachment between the parent and infant which can affect them for the rest of their life. it’s really traumatic for the infant and really shouldn’t be used.
