We’ve lost count of the times we’ve gone to the shop to buy eggs, but how many of us have actually tried to... hatch them? We bet it’s zero because it’s almost impossible!
However, Charli Lello was clearly too bored during the quarantine that she decided to conduct a little experiment from the duck eggs she had bought.
The 29 year-old shop manager had the talk with her mother about raising ducks a while ago and thanks to being bored in the house, they finally ‘quacked’ the talk.

After a month in incubation, the fighter ducklings beat “remarkably slim odds” and were seen breaking out of their shells. A spokeswoman said that although it’s not impossible, the chances of fertilization were very thin, as they’d to go through weeks without incubation before they arrive at stores and supermarkets.
Charli said that she was so anxious it would go wrong while they were hatching so she stayed put near the incubator.
Well, we’re glad that everything went well. Here are the three pretty ducklings!
Beep, Peep and Meep will grow up together with her pet chickens and rest assured they’re going to be one happy family!
A spokesperson from the supermarket said that fertilized eggs were “entirely indistinguishable” from normal eggs, unless incubated and are perfectly safe to eat.
So if you’re worrying if it’s safe to eat the eggs you just bought, you’ve got your answer. Now let’s admire Beep, Peep and Meep!
Has this idea ever crossed your mind?
