This village in Indonesia was actually filled with blood-red water after floods hit a local batik factory!

Images of the scene in Jenggot, Central Java,  then flooded Twitter-verse!

The dye from the batik factory seemed to have dyed the nearby rivers as well. Local disaster relief Dimas Arga Yudha said that the colour will fade eventually, when it mixes with rain water.

To those of you who didn’t know, it’s apparently not uncommon for the rivers in Pekalongan to turn different colours as it has a number of batik factories. The city is known for its batik manufacturing.

Well, old news for them but certainly a first for us. We hope everyone is safe and that things get back to normal for the villagers!
