We are all in the fight against the coronavirus. While many initiatives are being taken to find a vaccine for the deadly virus, many people have also been creating awareness about it, too.

A recent Japanese research found that the coronavirus remains active on human skin for a very long time… 9 hours to be specific.

According to the study, the pathogen that causes the flu only survives about 1.8 hours on our skin, and we think this is enough reason for us to practice good hygiene at all times. The duration it lasts on the human skin increases the risk of contact transmission, hence worsening the pandemic.

The study was conducted from skin collected from autopsy specimens about a day after death. When sanitizers were applied on both the influenza and COVID-19 virus, they were inactivated within just 15 seconds.

We’re being reminded time and again to maintain physical distance and wash or sanitize our hands frequently. The virus is still around but we can stay away from it by being hygienic.

Here’s how to wash hands the proper way:

Lately, cases are on the rise in Malaysia and the government has announced CMCO in the  Klang Valley, Selangor and Putrajaya areas.

So please stay home, stay safe and practise good hygiene!
