Here’s the list of all the first timers, under the New Artist category:
1. Chloe X Halle

This duo got their break into the world of music after Beyonce noticed one of their YouTube cover songs, a rendition of “Pretty Hurts” and signed them to her Parkwood Entertainment label back in 2013. Their debut album, "The Kids Are Alright", was released in March 2018, and it also made it to the nomination list for Best Urban Contemporary Album.
Kudos, young ladies!
2. Luke Combs

Talk about country music and you’d see him turn around! He was inspired by his country heroes Tim McGraw and Luke Bryan, and has produced hits including "Hurricane" and "Beautiful Crazy". His first album, This "One’s For You" also debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart!
Make some noise, country music lovers!

The group consists of three brothers; Josh, Jake and Sam Kiszka and a dear friend, Danny Wagner as the drummer. Their debut single, "Highway Tune" made its mark on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Songs Chart as the number 1 rock song, for FIVE WEEKS!
If you think not only the band, but their song should also be nominated under Best Rock Performance at Grammys, you’re not wrong- because Grammys think the same!
4. H.E.R

Having.Everything.Revealed.
That’s what the abbreviation stands for but the Northern California native has never confirmed her true identity. The irony!
H.E.R Vol 1 got the attention of many with her cover of Drake’s “Jungle” and her album, "I Used To Know Her: The Prelude" debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top R&B Albums chart.
H.E.R got her first nomination and her song got one too, under Best R&B Song.
Well, she doesn’t have everything revealed. But as long as her songs are good, it doesn’t matter.
5. Dua Lipa

Need we say more? Her massive hit "New Rules" became every woman’s go-to jam when they needed help to move on from an ex.
You go, girl! You already won our hearts!
6. Margo Price

She first formed the band, "Buffalo Cover" and later "Margo & The Pricetags" with a changing lineup that sometimes included Sturgill Simpson.
She self-financed her 2016 debut solo album "Midwest Farmer’s Daughter" and her sophomore follow-up in 2017, "All American Made" which includes guest vocals from Willie Nelson. Guess what? Both albums made it onto the Billboard 200!
And now this. She deserves a standing ovation for her perseverance!
7. Bebe Rexha

Rexha has been there for a longer time than we may have noticed. Did you know that she was behind several hit songs like Eminem’s "The Monster", featuring Rihanna, as a co-writer?
She released her first debut album, "Expectations", in 2018.
She received her first two Grammy nominations; Best New Artist and Best Country / Duo Group Performance for her song, "Meant To Be".
“I’m proud of my work and how far I’ve come, and I’m proud of the way that I did it. I rolled up my sleeves and said, ‘I want to make a mark on this world’.” – Bebe Rexha
She spoke for herself. And we’re proud just as she is.
8. Jorja Smith

Her debut album "Lost & Found" showcased her vocal talent with songs like "Blue Lights" and helped her grow a solid fan base in the U.S. According to her, good music is timeless, and if you create with honesty, it will last.
We agree!
There you go! Whether they win or they lose, they’ve done their part and they’ve done the best they could. They deserve some applause for that!
