Have you ever dreaded creating an excel sheet and filling in pages of info manually, one by one?

Have you ever wrongly clicked on one of the columns and every other calculation went wrong because of that ONE mistake?

If you have, let us tell you that you can now take a deep breath because life just got easier!

A Microsoft tool for Android phones and iPhones can be used to convert words and numbers on a piece of paper into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet in a couple of seconds!

You just have to snap a photo of the data in rows and columns on a piece of paper, and the iOS and Android Excel app will automatically convert the image into editable data! Just like that, guys!

The coolest thing about this is that Excel gives you a chance to fix any data before you convert or finalize it.

The free versions of the mobile apps allows you to do some basic editing, but if you want to up your Excel game by unlocking or exploring more features, you have to subscribe to the Microsoft Office app.

Let us walk you through the steps one by one again.

1. Tap ‘New’ at the top of the app to create a new file. You can use the templates given or create a new blank workbook.

2. At the bottom, click on the picture button and if you're a first timer, you have to click ‘allow’ to give Microsoft permission to convert the image data.

3. Position the red rectangle around the data you want to capture but you might need a little patience as it may take you a few tries before you get what you exactly want.

4. Once you’re happy with your data, tap the red check button to convert the data. If you’re not done, tap ‘X’ and start editing again.

5. You can tap a red-highlighted cell to edit or enter missing information.

6.  When everything is done, the last step is to click ‘Insert’ at the top to save your data in workbook.

Now, the best part!

The data you capture does not necessarily have to involve only numbers, as it can also scan words, lists and recipe ingredients!

It works with 21 languages so far, with more on the way.

And if you’re wondering about the safety of sending spreadsheet data, a Microsoft spokesperson said that privacy and confidentiality are respected at all costs. So don’t waste your time creating your Excel sheets manually anymore!
