This article is in no way trying to influence you to cross the borders (because it’s still risky to do so). This is just information we thought you might want to know.

Thailand has just been ranked the safest destination in the world to visit amid the global COVID19 pandemic. Wow!

The country managed to achieve the status because of its tip-top International Health Regulations score (85%), moderate population density and very low number of COVID-19 cases.

The ranking came after a Berlin-based travel startup carried out a study to determine safe holiday destinations amid the outbreak of the deadly coronavirus. After much data and analysis, they ranked the countries safest to travel accordingly in this order- Thailand, Jordan, French Polynesia, Greece, Uruguay, Italy, Cambodia, Japan, Ireland and Botswana.

The analysis included hours of sunshine per day for outdoor activities, national 14-day notification rates of new COVID-19 cases published by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, each country’s population density and it’s IHR score. And IHR score evaluates a country’s ability to respond to public health risks and emergencies of national and international concern.

As of August 16, Thailand has reported no domestic cases of COVID-19 for 83 days! Kudos to them!

We know it sounds exciting to still getting to travel amid the pandemic, but please stay safe and follow the SOPs set by the government. Only we can stop the spread of the virus.
