Sometimes, the ones who always help are the ones who end up not getting any.
It’s saddening to read stories of front-liners who succumb to the deadly coronavirus even after taking so much precaution.
Recently, a father-and-son duo in Florida who were both doctors passed after contracting COVID-19.
Dr. Jorge Vallejo, a retired obstetrician and gynecologist and his son, Dr Carlos Francisco Vallejo who took care of COVID-19 patients passed away on June 27th and August 1st respectively.
Apart from them, Dr Carlo’s wife, Lissette was also infected. Their relatives believe that he might have contracted the virus from one of his patients.
Children of Dr Carlos, 57 said that their father still continued taking care of his patients while he battles the virus himself. His niece gave her family credits by saying that the doctors in her family are perfect example of what doctors should be. That is such a selfless act.

Life isn’t a joke. While some of us are still out there not following SOPs, our front-liners are putting their lives at risk so that we stay safe. So, why don’t we try and give back? It doesn’t hurt to be a good citizen. Together, we can do so much.
