The government announced a Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) from 14-26 October 2020 following the increase in COVID-19 cases, with a list of SOPs to be followed during this time.

But here's some good news for the film industry- the National Film Development Corporation (FINAS) recently granted all filming activities to go on during the CMCO in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya.

However, the filming must adhere to the SOPs fixed by the National Security Council. Members involved in the filming have to go through the basic health screening, the premises must be cleaned and disinfected before and after use, physical distancing should be practised and measures to ensure crew safety and emergency response should be taken.

If the production houses need to go out of the areas under the CMCO, they must seek permission from the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).

Finas hopes that production houses will abide by the rules and avoid filming at red zone areas.

For the rest of us, we’re still encouraged to stay home as much as we can to stop the spread of the COVID-19. We’re all in this together!
