Facebook’s watching your every move, guys! The social media platform is now taking the initiative to fight against COVID-19 misinformation thats’ spread heavily online.

Sources said that Facebook will soon start sending notifications to users who have shared, commented on or liked posts that contain wrong information about the virus or the pandemic. The social media giant will also be sharing trustworthy links with the users so they can get the right information.

The notifications would read something like:

“We removed a post you liked that had false, potentially harmful information about COVID-19.”

So if you see one of these notices, please ensure you click on the trustworthy link and fact-check yourself.

Options to unsubscribe from the group that originally shared the post will also be given.

The public has been warned ever since the start of the pandemic about spreading false information but we still see it happening. False information can cause unnecessary anxiety to some who are already going through a tough time. That’s why it is important to only share what’s right, and factual.

Let’s be responsible and support each other, instead of spreading false information, during this difficult time!
