A head nurse from Sungai Buloh Specialist Centre, Selangor passed on 10 days after delivering her fifth child. Her death was believed to be from complications related to COVID-19.

Artini Dzolkarnaini was tested positive for the virus during staff screening. She was intubated at the hospital on January 22. The next day, she gave birth to her 5th child, prematurely. The baby girl is currently in the hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit.
She was described as a very dedicated and kind-hearted member of staff, and was also reported to have had co-authored a book in Malay titled Penjagaan dan Pemulihan Jantung, published by the university in which she worked.
Members of the Faculty of Medicine in the university expressed their condolences.
We hope the child recovers and gets discharged with no further complications. Meantime, our thoughts and prayers go out to her loved ones, and all frontliners. Rest in peace.
