Malaysia hit a new high of 2,593 cases yesterday (Jan 6) and Health DG Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said that our country’s health system is at a breaking point, with the number of active cases filling the hospital beds to near full capacity.
Yet, it’s worrying to see some citizens who are still unmindful of the situation. A woman was recently condemned online for refusing to wear her face mask while travelling on a train from Taiping to Ipoh.

Facebook user, Claudia Lee took to social media and explained what had happened in detail. When travelling on Dec 27, 2020, Claudia said that she observed the woman for about 10 to 20 minutes.
The very concerned Claudia then asked if she needed a face mask, to which the woman replied that she has one of her own.
“I have it. I don’t want to wear,” was what she allegedly said.
Despite being reminded to wear face masks while on the coach, the young lady was reluctant to wear it, claiming that she had been wearing it for four hours.

After accusing a staff member of shouting at her when he insisted that she wore a face mask, she finally took out her face mask and eventually put it on.

We cannot fight this battle alone so let’s work together to break free from the deadly virus. If wearing a face mask makes you feel so uncomfortable, then just stay home perhaps.
