You’d probably go on a date with someone at least a few times before meeting their family right?

Well, this man in China thought he’s just going on a blind date, but little did he know he was going to have 23 extra guests…

That’s right! His date brought 23 of her relatives along with her for a “free meal”.

So what did he do? He left her with the bill, and 'cabut'!

According to Chinese news site Sohu, 29-year-old Chen had agreed to pay for the first date, but of course, that was before he knew the woman was going to bring her whole kampung with her.

His “date” ended up occupying four tables at the restaurant, and the bill came up to a grand total of RM12310.60.

Chen was shocked when he went to settle the bill, so he switched off his phone and snuck out of the restaurant, leaving his date to pay for the meal.

Later on, the matchmaker brought the pair back together to settle the issue, and so Chen agreed to pay for two tables, while the other two had to be paid for by the woman herself.

But wait, the story gets better!

As if the whole ordeal wasn’t embarrassing enough, the woman then asked her relatives to pay for their share as well.

She wrote on WeChat:

“Hi everyone, thank you for your support during my last blind date. The guy and I agreed before the date that he would pay for the meal.

“Someone created trouble during the meal by claiming that the guy is rich, so they should eat more and test his generosity. It made the whole situation unbearable.

“I am the biggest victim in this situation. Because the amount spent far exceeds what I am able to pay. My reputation has also been damaged.”

Some of her relatives’ replies include:

“Sister, you were the one who asked us along. I only had a simple meal. I didn't ask for anything extra.”

“Shouldn't the guy pay on a blind date?”

“Wow, this guy is so disgusting.”

Do you think what Chen did was fair?
