We always hear people saying the right person will come to you at the right time but for 24 year-old Chandu, it wasn’t just one person… it was 2 of them.

This one-of-a-kind wedding that recently happened in Chhattisgarh, India, is grabbing headlines. Chandu married 2 of his girlfriends whom he loved dearly in front of 500 guests including his friends and well-wishers.

Chandu is a marginal farmer and a laborer from a remote village. Three years ago, he fell in love with 21 year-old Sundari and they both kept in touch over phone calls and planned to eventually get married.

A year later, he had an encounter with his second love of life at a relative’s marriage. 20-year-old Haseena Baghel expressed her love for him and Chandu could not bring himself to say no. However, he did come clean to Haseena about his relationship with Sundari.

The 20 year-old still insisted that they kept in touch and soon both his girlfriends came to know about each other and they both agreed to be in a relationship with him.

One fine day, Haseena decided to live with Chandu, hence she went to his house. Learning this, his first girlfriend went to his house as well, and they started living-in as a family for a year.

Fed-up of answering his family members and the questions of villagers, he decided to tie the knot with both of them because he said, “...they both loved me. I can’t betray them. They agreed they both will live with me forever.”

Haseena’s parents attended the wedding but Sundari's parents did not. Sundari is hopeful that things would eventually get better.

Good thing is, they’re happy. What are your thoughts on this?
