Ramadan is ending very soon and this year’s Hari Raya is going to be just like last year, unfortunately.

Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin announced a nationwide MCO effective May 12th, 2021 and it prohibits family visits, even if you’re nearby.

Also, the MCO bans visiting cemeteries and congregations of more than 50 people in mosques that can accommodate 1,000 people, as well as 20 for mosques that can accommodate fewer than 1,000 people. The rule on crowd limit applies for any other praying time as well, he emphasized.

Muslim couples may have their marriages solemnised following the SOP set by their state religious authorities while non-Muslims can have their marriages at the National Registration Department (NRD), according to regulations that have been put into place.

So, please abide by the rules and stay safe this Raya, so that we can all have a better celebration next year.
