Just within a week, our whole country is now about to go back to the stay-home scenario. Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin announced a nationwide Movement Control Order (MCO) starting tomorrow (May 12th).
If you’re a working adult, here’s what you need to know. Work-from-home (WFH) is now mandatory for employees in the private sector. Muhyiddin added that employers cannot have an attendance of more than 30% of managerial staff at any one time.
As for the public sector, WFH will be decided by guidelines issued by the Chief Secretary to the government from time to time.
Also, a maximum capacity of three people per car is allowed. This rule applies for private vehicles, taxis and e-hailing services. Number of passengers on public transports is not fixed; however, the number of passengers in each public transport must be such that it is possible to maintain physical distancing between one another.
For vehicles carrying goods, the number of passengers will depend on the number permitted as stated on their registration and licenses.
The latest MCO, which was announced yesterday (May 10th) will last for four weeks, ending on June 7th. The current COVID-19 status in Malaysia is as below:
We’re all in this together, guys. Please be responsible and let’s work towards flattening the curve.
