Mosquitoes are insects that are incredibly annoying, especially when it bites us or lingers around us. What’s even worst (and dangerous!) are the pesky Aedes mosquitoes!

Klang MP, YB Tuan Charles Santiago reported that the total number of dengue fever cases saw a dramatic rise, with 960 cases recorded in the Klang district since the beginning of January 2019 alone.
This is a near 5-time jump from only 203 cases reported in the same period last year. As such, the Klang MP has called on the residents of Klang to play a more proactive role in preventing dengue outbreaks.
He urged residents to be more aware of the cleanliness in their homes and surroundings, to help reduce the increase of dengue cases in the area.
Residents have also been told to cooperate with the Klang District Health Office (PKD) to conduct regular checks in the affected areas.
This comes as Klang District Health Officer Dr. Masitah Mohamed said that the main breeding sites for Aedes mosquitoes were in homes, and as such, the public must give their full cooperation during inspections by PKD staff.
We hope the situation in Klang improves soon.
