We’re pretty sure most of you can say Uno was a big part of your childhood…
And now, plans are underway to turn the ever-popular card game into a TV show!
American toy company Mattel already has several projects in the works to bring its iconic products into the world of film and television, which include the View-Master, a live-action American Girl Doll film, and a horror movie centered on the Magic 8 Ball.
Mattel will be partnering up with the people behind The Price is Right and Let’s Make a Deal to bring the family card game to the small screen.
“UNO is the most popular game in the world and is a fixture in pop culture, making it the ideal franchise to build a reality game show around,” said Adam Bonnett, Mattel Television’s executive producer.
The new Uno game show is projected to be the new Family Feud or Jeopardy, with maybe just a touch of American Ninja Warrior.
According to Hypebeast, the show will pit four teams against each other in a variety of challenges including trivia, physical feats, problem solving, and audience participation.
No further details have been revealed, but it’ll be nice to see the show roll out sometime next year, as the game celebrates its 50th anniversary.
