An e-hailing service confirmed that they will not be taking any action against the ride hailing service provider, Kamaruzzaman Abdul Latiff who was accused by his passenger that he was trying to cheat and kidnap her.

According to a post, Kamaruzzaman was driving the passenger from Bishan to Coleman Street in Singapore during rush hour traffic. The passenger accused him of cheating her as the driver took the route that passes through the country’s electronic toll system (ERP).

The passenger said that there’s an alternative route without ERP but failed to direct the driver when asked to. Instead, she went on accusing him and later got someone to talk to the driver, after recording what he was saying.

To put an end to the early morning drama, the driver then said that bringing her to the nearest police station would be the best solution, and also told her that she could have taken the bus, which would have cost her way less.

The driver, after much contemplation, posted a seven-minute recording of the incident on the public ride hailing service’s Facebook page.

Watch the rather ‘funny’ video here:

In the last two minutes of the video, we could see that they were talking to a person, most probably a police officer, and the individual had instructed them to go to the nearest police station.

But the passenger didn’t stop there. She wanted to exit the car but found that the car was locked, after which she panicked and shouted, “Unlock the door! He is taking hostage on me!”

The driver then explained that his car was on auto-lock and that he did not try to take her hostage as he would not have suggested to go to the police station if he did.

The video has gone viral on social media and has received over 18,000 likes and more than 40,000 shares.

Meanwhile, many have praised the driver for keeping his cool over the incident and the girl has been ridiculed over her behavior towards the driver.

The passenger, who has since been doxed by the public, apparently deleted her Facebook account after the incident.

So much drama over toll charges! What would you have done?
