When Irish boyband Westlife announced their split on the 19th of October 2011 after more than a decade and 14 number one singles, fans everywhere were left with a void that thankfully didn’t take too long to fill thanks to frontman Shane Filan’s foray into a solo music career.
Stating that “I’ve been given the opportunity to write my own songs. I’m so excited for people to hear them” when he announced the first single of his first solo album You and Me in 2013, Filan has since gone on to release his sophomore album titled Right Here in 2015.
Now, after two successful solo albums and tours, and cementing his position as one of the UK and Ireland’s most popular male solo artist, Shane Filan is back to melt hearts with Love Always, his third solo album.
Filan said, “The great thing about this new album and forthcoming tour is that the set list is going to be so strong with the addition of these songs to my set list, with some of my earlier singles and obviously the Westlife favourites. The fans will know every single word of every song, it’s nice to look forward to a tour knowing the crowd are really going to love it, it’s going to be a new chapter and everyone is going to be singing along to these songs”.
Love Always is more than just a way to set the tone of the latest album, which Filan describes in 3 words as “Romantic love songs”, but also holds personal significance as Filan usually signs autographs with “LOVE ALWAYS, SHANE”.
Alongside new original songs written by Filan such as Beautiful in White, the 12-track album will also count all-time classic love ballads such as Bob Dylan’s Make Me Feel My Love, NSYNC’s This I Promise You¸ and his personal favourites Eternal Flame and Heaven as part of its number.
And just in case you’re wondering about a concert tour, the former Westlife frontman revealed, “Yes, I will definitely be touring in Asia in 2018”.
Love Always and the first single from the album, Unbreakable is available now. Check out the album here: https://UMM.lnk.to/LoveAlwaysSF.
