The Sunway Oxbridge Essay Competition 2018 Is Back With Cash Prizes And Bursaries To Be Won!

It’s that time of the year again!  Sunway Group and the Oxford and Cambridge Society Malaysia is organising the Sunway Oxbridge Essay Competition  for the fifth consecutive year, in line with their mission to future-proof Malaysian secondary school students.

Fully supported by the Ministry of Education, this year’s competition invites secondary school students in Form 1 to Form 5 from both government and independent schools teaching the Malaysian syllabus to submit their original essays in English on the topic of Transformasi Nasional 2050 (TN50), the nation’s next development vision post Vision 2020.

There’ll be two categories: Students in Form 1 to Form 3 in Category A will be required to write an essay of 200 to 350 words on “How would you like to see your city, town, or village change by 2050?”

Students in Form 4 and Form 5 will participate in Category B, requiring them to share their ideas on the topic of “What is your vision for Malaysia in 2050? What is your role to achieve it?” in a 500 to 650-word essay.

All essay submissions must be in the English language and submissions begin on the 26^th of March 2018 to 1pm on the 24^th of April 2018.  Only digital submissions via https://www.sunway.com.my/essay/ are allowed. Students selected for the final stage of the competition will be required to make themselves available for an onsite essay writing examination on the 9^th of June 2018, at various locations in Malaysia.

Three top winners from each category will be selected and will walk home with…

First place

RM5,000 cash, Sunway bursary valued at RM26,000, award certificate, trophy, and 10,000 Sunway PALS points

Second place

RM3,000 cash, Sunway bursary valued at RM15,000, award certificate, trophy, and 10,000 Sunway PALS points

Third place

RM1,000 cash, Sunway bursary valued at RM10,000, award certificate, trophy, and 10,000 Sunway PALS points

Ten entries will also be selected to win consolation prizes consisting of RM500 cash, Sunway bursary valued at RM5,000, award certificate, trophy, and 10,000 Sunway PALS points each. The school with the most submissions will also stand to win a special prize.
