After the sudden passing of Chadwick Boseman in August this year, talk about Black Panther 2 has been pretty quiet. Recently however, the filmmakers have confirmed that the King of Wakanda will not be presented by a fully CGI version of the star.

Although modern technology allows such replication, Alonso, the executive vice president of production at Marvel Studios, said that there’s only one Chadwick and now that he’s gone, they’re taking a little time out to see how they’d continue the story.
The movie’s executive producer, Victoria Alonso assured movie-goers (who cringed at the idea of Chadwick’s on-screen appearance as a digital double) that it will not happen. The sequel is currently scheduled for release in May 2022.
As of now, they’re thinking of what to do next and are deciding on how they’re going to honour the franchise.
