Breakdancing is now a sport! Well, sort of.
Officials have announced that the dance form will make its Olympics debut at the Paris Olympics in 2024.

It was previously staged at the Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires two years ago.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) executive board also announced that skateboarding, sport climbing and surfing, which should have debuted in this year’s now postponed Tokyo Olympics, will feature in Paris as well. The Tokyo Olympics is scheduled to begin on July 23rd, 2021. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that it happens this time!

President of the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF), Shawn Tay highlighted that this historic occasion is indeed a team effort and that they will redouble their efforts in the lead-up to the 2024 Olympics to make sure the breaking competition will be an unforgettable one!
Paris 2024 will have 16 b-boys and b-girls respectively to compete in one vs one battles.
