Childhood often holds some of the best memories for both parents and children, but how many of us go out of our way to create new memories? This dad in China sewed over a 100 dresses for his daughter, XiXi just because and we feel it’s the sweetest thing ever!

Xu Ruiqin, a self-taught tailor has been designing dresses, preparing materials, and sewing since his daughter was just 4 years old. Using the sewing machine he got from his mother, he tailors the dresses with the intention of giving her some wonderful childhood memories. He added that he wants his daughter to remember the places they’d been together and the things they’ve done… of course, in uniquely beautiful outfits.
He has sewn Japanese lolita dresses, traditional Chinese hanfu, and even a bridal gown. Here are some of the dresses!

Beautiful, right? Each design takes him from a day up to several weeks to complete and we really applaud his determination.
He now shares photos of the dresses on a Chinese social media platform, after much encouragement from his brother and we’re loving it!
Xu who was reluctant to tell the world that he made dresses at first explained that he felt so because he lived in an environment where people were not very open-minded and were not willing to try new things. But oh well, let them judge if they want to… we’re glad that this tailor father decided to brush it away and show off his skills.
We really hope the father-daughter duo have a great time and that XiXi will have a wonderful childhood to look back at when she’s an adult.
