We’ve heard the saying “we only know how strong we are until being strong is the only choice we have” and this grandma is probably the living example of it.
Senior citizens are said to be more vulnerable to the deadly coronavirus but this woman in Spain defied the odds at 113 years old!

Maria Branyas was isolated in her room at a nursing home, after finding out that she had contracted the virus. Some other elderly people who were in the same nursing home as hers died after contracting the virus but a spokesperson said that Maria only showed mild symptoms.
Her daughter, Rosa Moret said that her mother has recovered and is now doing fine. She then revealed that this wasn’t the only ‘near-death’ situation this strong woman has survived.
During World War I, Maria and her family moved back to Spain by boat. While she managed to live through that, she also survived the Spanish flu in 1918, which killed a whopping 50 million people across the world! Then came the Spanish Civil War, and World War II and now the coronavirus… easy peasy.

We are all so amazed by this story! Maria is indeed a strong woman. While we’re glad that she survived COVID-19, we’d like to remind you that not every one of us will be just as lucky. So, please stay safe and make sure the elderly people in your family are protected at all times.
