We’ve got a question for you. When you board a flight, what do you do first?
- Sleep
- Read a book
- Talk to my neighbour(s)
- Check out if the flight attendants are really doing their jobs.
If your brain chose the option D, we guess we need to suggest you a better option.
E. Mind your own business.
Freedom of speech is important and necessary but what would you do if that ‘speech’ doesn’t quite make sense?
Since the wake of the pandemic, the global aviation industry has hit rock bottom, thanks to all the travel bans in place. Now that we’re slowly heading back to (new) normal, and with some rules being loosened, people are allowed to fly again; but only by abiding by the rules and SOPs set by respective governments.
All flight attendants have to wear facemasks and full personal protective equipment (PPE), especially on long haul flights. But the problem here is, some people who pay for the flights, do not like the idea.

This Indonesian airline has reportedly asked its attendants to stop using masks because the passengers complained about not being able to see their facial expressions. Hence, they weren’t able to tell whether their serving attendant was smiling or pouting, making the journey somewhat uncomfortable.
... really?

Well, you know what would make the journey more uncomfortable? Knowing that you’re so exposed to germs, you might even get off the plane contracting some virus and there’s NOTHING you can do about it.
Netizens have also voiced out their dissatisfaction over the issue as well.
But, it is interesting nevertheless as it opens a room for discussion. Does seeing pleasant attendants really make your journey better? Does boarding a flight with all these SOPs make you uncomfortable? What’s your opinion on this? Share with us!
