One more tiring thing than having to work from home for parents is to deal with their kids’ needs and wants. Have you ever been bugged so much just because they feel bored now that schools are closed or because they don’t want to watch their favourite cartoons anymore?
We feel you! Here are some cool old-school ways to keep your kids busy while you focus on your chores. Also, less screen time is good for them as well.
Give Them An IMPORTANT Task

Yes, we feel bad for tricking them into thinking that making a paper plane for grandma is THE most important thing for the day, but sometimes we need them to be a little independent. Give them a task and make it a big deal. Write on their to-do list or make it seem important. You can ask them to do anything; for example making origami hearts for their friends or drawing their favourite cartoon for their grandma.
If they think it’s an important job, they will not complain about working on it.
Playtime

Parents think so much about giving their kids creative ways of having fun without realising the fact that children see fun in anything and everything. If you need a breather, just bring them to the backyard or to the playground, give them a ball and let them run wild.
Trust us, they’ll be fine. Just make sure to keep an eye out so they don’t wander too far!
Get MESSY!

Nothing excites them more than messing up a clean space, so why not offer them just that? If you want your kids to not disturb you for a while, give them some paint and paper and ask them to create their very own masterpiece. You can even give them their old t-shirts and ask them to re-design them.
OR.. you can set up a tarp in the kitchen and give them some bowls and random things from the kitchen that they can mix. We assure you your little Masterchefs will be so busy creating a mess, they’ll forget about bothering you.
Let Them Help You

Kids want to be adults so much while adults wish we stayed as kids forever. They’d always want to poke their noses into whatever we’re doing, so instead of scolding them or asking them to sit still, ask them to help you instead. Give them simple chores that they can handle.
If you are cleaning the house, ask them to arrange their toy box according to colours. That would make them both happy, and busy.
Dear parents, we hope this helps you. What do you do with your kids when you need a break?
