Get ready to fall in love all over again. A reboot of A Walk to Remember is officially in the works, more than two decades after Mandy Moore and Shane West brought Landon and Jamie’s unforgettable love story to life.

Monarch Media has secured the rights to Nicholas Sparks’ beloved 1999 novel, with original film producers Denise Di Novi and Hunt Lowry returning to develop a fresh adaptation. The news was confirmed on February 27, marking the second film adaptation of the bestselling book.
Steve Barnett, who was also involved in the original 2002 movie, expressed his excitement about revisiting the timeless tale.
"A Walk to Remember has remained a cherished coming-of-age drama, resonating with audiences through its themes of young love, personal growth, and faith for decades," Barnett told Deadline. "We couldn’t be more thrilled to reimagine Nicholas Sparks’ beloved story and work alongside the original film’s producers, Denise and Hunt."

Lowry echoed the sentiment, adding, "I’m delighted to bring this timeless story to a new generation of moviegoers."
While casting details have yet to be announced, fans of the original film—widely regarded as a defining romance of the early 2000s—are eager to see who will step into the iconic roles of Landon and Jamie.

The 2002 adaptation not only became a cult classic but also launched the careers of its leads. Shane West previously shared his fond memories of filming with Mandy Moore, telling E! News in 2019, "Mandy was phenomenal and my best friend when we were working on that. We hadn’t had anything that had been a success like that, so that will always be one of my favorite memories."
As anticipation builds, one thing is certain: A Walk to Remember is ready to capture hearts all over again.
