Adam Brody had a big night at the 2025 Critics Choice Awards, taking home the award for Best Actor in a Comedy Series for his role as Rabbi Noah Roklov in Netflix’s Nobody Wants This. But beyond celebrating his win, he took a touching moment to honor his wife, Leighton Meester.

During the ceremony, hosted by Chelsea Handler, Brody triumphed over strong contenders, including Brian Jordan Alvarez (English Teacher), David Alan Grier (St. Denis Medical), Steve Martin and Martin Short (Only Murders in the Building), and Kayvan Novak (What We Do in the Shadows).

Taking the stage at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, the 45-year-old actor expressed gratitude to his wife of 10 years.

“My darling, darling, darling wife Leighton,” he said, addressing Meester, with whom he shares two children. “Thank you for sharing this life with me and this journey with me. Thank you for our family. I love you with all my heart.”

Brody also gave a shout out to his Nobody Wants This co-star Kristen Bell and the show’s creator, Erin Foster, while teasing the highly anticipated second season.

“We had the immense pleasure of filming this in Los Angeles,” he shared. “Can’t wait to run it back with you guys in a few weeks.”

Turning to Bell, he added, “Thank you for your talent. Thank you for your kindness. Thank you for your belief in me."Since Nobody Wants This premiered in 2024, Brody has reflected on his excitement over playing an unconventional rabbi navigating romance with Bell’s character, an agnostic podcast host named Joanne.

“I wanted it,” he told The Hollywood Reporter in October. “I only got the first episode of the script, but I thought it was charming—a fun role that felt comfortable and familiar. At the same time, the character being a rabbi meant that it had this whole other side to it. I had a lot to learn and study to do it justice.”

The O.C. alum also admitted that at this stage in his career, he’s more selective with his roles.

“Any professional should be opinionated about what they do, but I think I’m much more pragmatic in terms of what I take on,” he explained. “I don’t consider myself incredibly picky, but I do appreciate the reality of work. The joy of making something comes more from the people involved than the project itself.”

With his latest win and a new season on the way, Brody continues to prove that both his career and his love story with Meester are thriving.
