Alicia Silverstone is dusting off her Alaïa and stepping back into her most iconic role. The Clueless star is set to reprise her role as Cher Horowitz in a new sequel series in development at Peacock.

The series picks up nearly 30 years after the 1995 teen comedy classic, with Silverstone also serving as an executive producer alongside original director Amy Heckerling. While exact plot details are still under wraps, fans can expect to see where life has taken Cher since that final scene with Paul Rudd’s Josh.
The project comes from Gossip Girl creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, who will co-write the new series with Dollface creator Jordan Weiss. It’s being developed by CBS Studios and Universal Television.

Clueless was a playful reimagining of Jane Austen’s Emma, following Cher’s matchmaking adventures, fashion-forward lifestyle, and eventual romantic awakening. It also starred Stacey Dash, Brittany Murphy, and Donald Faison.
This isn’t the first time a reboot has been attempted. A separate series centered on Dionne was shelved in 2021. The original film also inspired a TV series in the late '90s, though Silverstone didn’t reprise her role for that run.
Now, nearly three decades later, Silverstone is back — and we’re totally buggin’.
