Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have officially closed the chapter on their two-year marriage. Based on an article by E! News, less than five months after the Hustlers star filed for divorce, the pair reached a settlement.

Per the filing, both J.Lo and Ben agreed uncontested to the terms of Jennifer’s initial request. The settlement allows each to retain earnings individually acquired during their marriage, with neither party providing spousal support. Additionally, Jennifer will revert to her former last name, Lopez, after changing it to Affleck following their 2022 Las Vegas wedding.
Jennifer, 55, filed for divorce in August 2024, exactly two years after the couple’s nuptials. She cited their separation date as April 26. Public speculation about their relationship had swirled in the months leading up to the filing, fueled by Jennifer’s solo appearance at the 2024 Met Gala and her liking an Instagram post about relationship red flags.
The Instagram post, which caught fans’ attention in March, read: "You can’t build a relationship with someone who is disconnected from themselves... Love is not a feeling, it’s action."
Since the filing, Jennifer has been candid about her journey through heartbreak and self-discovery during what she described as a period when her whole world exploded.

In a bid to focus on herself and her family, Jennifer canceled her tour last year. During this time, she and Ben, 52, have been seen together on multiple occasions for family outings. In September, the former couple reunited with their blended family, including Ben’s kids Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12, from his marriage to Jennifer Garner, as well as J.Lo’s 16-year-old twins, Max and Emme, whom she shares with ex-husband Marc Anthony. (Ben’s oldest daughter, Violet, 19, is currently in college.)
The pair also gathered for a holiday meal at Los Angeles' Soho House just three days before Christmas, showing their commitment to co-parenting and maintaining a family connection.
For Jennifer, this period of transition has been one of growth and self-reflection. “I was so devastated to let anybody down, but I just needed to be with my kids and myself,” she shared. “It was a really difficult time for me. Probably the hardest time of my life, but it was also the best time because I got to do that work on myself.
With their divorce finalized, both Jennifer and Ben are focusing on their individual paths while continuing to prioritize their shared responsibilities as parents.
