How many of you here grew up watching the cartoon, or reading the book Clifford The Big Red Dog? If you did, we’ve got good news!
The first trailer for the live-action remake starring Jack Whitehall has been released and we are excited!
This will be the first time the character is hitting the big screen, and the movie is set to be released in cinemas in September.
Other actors in the movie include Tony Hale, Sienna Guillory, David Alan Grier, Russell Wong and John Cleese.
First written in 1963 by Norman Bridwell, the big red dog has appeared in more than 150 books and nearly 130 million copies have been sold in print, while the first-ever TV show debuted in 2000.
Here’s the official synopsis of the movie, according to Collider:
“When middle-schooler Emily Elizabeth (Darby Camp) meets a magical animal rescuer (John Cleese) who gifts her a little, red puppy, she never anticipated waking up to find a giant ten-foot hound in her small New York City apartment.
While her single mom (Sienna Guillory) is away for business, Emily and her fun but impulsive uncle Casey (Jack Whitehall) set out on an adventure that will keep you on the edge-of-your-seat as our heroes take a bite out of the Big Apple. Based on the beloved Scholastic book character, Clifford will teach the world how to love big!”
