Cody Walker is grappling with a bittersweet milestone—approaching the age his late brother, Paul Walker, was when he tragically passed away.

Paul, best known for his role in Fast & Furious, died in a car accident in 2013 at the age of 40. Now, more than a decade later, Cody, who was 15 years younger than Paul, is coming to terms with surpassing his brother’s age—a reality that weighs heavily on him.
“Paul passed away way too young, at 40 years old,” Cody told E! News’ Francesca Amiker. “Every year I get closer to 40, it just bums me out. It’s weird to say that I’m 36, soon to be 37. And every year beyond 40, I feel like, ‘He should have had this. Here’s another year Paul should have had.’”
Cody admitted he struggles with a sense of survivor’s guilt.
“It’s the guilt for getting there,” he explained. “Why do some people get taken from us, while others stick around when they shouldn’t? It’s just the damnedest thing. It’s not fair.”

Despite the heartache, Cody has channeled his grief into a deeper appreciation for life.
“It’s taught me to be grateful for every single day,” he shared. “I tell my kids I love them every day. I tell my wife I love her every day. Every time I talk to my parents, that’s how we end our conversations.”
Since Paul’s passing, Cody has dedicated himself to keeping his brother’s legacy alive. One of the biggest ways he does this is through FuelFest, an event that merges Paul’s love of cars and racing with his passion for community service.
“The whole idea was to bring car culture together under one roof,” Cody explained. “This isn’t just some car show—this is bringing Fast & Furious to life. A place where people can see, smell, and feel the automotive pulse.”

A portion of FuelFest’s proceeds goes to Reach Out Worldwide, the disaster relief charity Paul founded. Since launching the event, Cody has helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for the organization.
For Cody, FuelFest is more than just a tribute—it’s a way to celebrate the brother he admired.
“It’s the best thing ever,” he said. “I’m living the dream.”
