The stars of Coyote Ugly are back—and they’re bringing the heat once again.
Ahead of the cult-classic film’s 25th anniversary, cast members Tyra Banks (Zoe), Maria Bello (Lil), Melanie Lynskey (Gloria), and Izabella Miko (Cammie) reunited for a special screening and discussion at the American Cinematheque's Aero Theatre in Los Angeles. The event, orchestrated by Banks, also featured director David McNally, producer Jerry Bruckheimer, and Grammy-winning songwriter Diane Warren, who wrote the film’s iconic anthem, Can’t Fight the Moonlight.

Although Piper Perabo (Violet), Bridget Moynahan (Rachel), and Adam Garcia (Kevin) couldn’t attend in person, they made virtual appearances, making sure they were part of the nostalgic celebration.
During the discussion—moderated by Banks—the stars reflected on their experiences filming the 2000 hit, which followed a young aspiring songwriter (Perabo) navigating New York City while working at the high-energy Coyote Ugly bar.
Lynskey, who played Violet’s best friend Gloria, was quick to clarify one common misconception: “Everybody thinks I was dancing on the bar, and I’m so grateful I wasn’t,” she admitted. “That looked like a nightmare.”

Banks described the night as “magical, wild, hilarious, and deeply touching—just like the movie itself.” She also revealed that attendees played a special drinking game called Can’t Fight the Moonshine—a playful nod to the film’s signature song performed by LeAnn Rimes.
Beyond the nostalgia, the event also supported a good cause, benefiting victims of the L.A. wildfires through Global Empowerment Mission.
While the reunion celebrated the past, it also hinted at the future. Banks had previously teased a possible Coyote Ugly sequel or TV series, revealing in 2020 that discussions were already underway.
“I literally was supposed to be on a conference call today about bringing Coyote Ugly back,” Banks revealed on The Kelly Clarkson Show at the time. “Yes, we are talking about trying to do Coyote Ugly 2 or a series.”

She even had a dream cast in mind, naming Selena Gomez, Lady Gaga, and Meryl Streep as her top picks for a modern-day reboot.
While there’s no official word yet on whether Coyote Ugly will return to screens, one thing is clear—the movie’s legacy is still as fierce as ever.
