In an article from People, it stated that Schwimmer spoke with Entertainment Weekly, he reflected on an incident that occurred while filming the iconic sitcom in 1994 in front of a live studio audience.

Schwimmer recounted that Matt LeBlanc, who played Joey Tribbiani, was supposed to perform a pratfall during a live taping when he accidentally dislocated his shoulder. "He went totally white, and he stood up, and I could see his shoulder was out. He looked like he was going to pass out," Schwimmer shared.

The injury took place while filming the season 3 episode, "The One Where No One's Ready.” Seeing how serious the injury was, Schwimmer immediately called for the cameras to "cut." "You could see how badly hurt he was," he said. The filming was halted, and LeBlanc was rushed to the hospital.

During the 2021 Friends reunion on HBO Max, previously unseen footage of the incident was revealed, showing LeBlanc landing awkwardly while jumping into a chair. The cast also recalled how they had skipped their usual pre-show ritual that day, the "huddle," and from that point on, LeBlanc humorously insisted on doing it before every show. The injury was written into the next episode, "The One with the Jam," with LeBlanc appearing in a sling.
