Demi Lovato and Jordan "Jutes" Lutes are eagerly anticipating their wedding day, celebrating the one-year anniversary of their engagement with heartfelt tributes to one another.

Jutes, 33, shared a throwback photo on Instagram Stories from their proposal last year, showing the couple smiling as they leaned in for a kiss. He captioned the photo, “1 year of being engaged to my favorite person. I’m so lucky and can’t wait to marry you, baby.”
Lovato, 32, reposted the photo on their Instagram Stories, calling Jutes “my sweet angel” and adding, “I love you infinitely and cannot wait to call you my husband!!! Happy 1 year of being engaged, baby!!”

The pair, who first went public with their relationship in August 2022, got engaged in Los Angeles on December 16, 2023, in what was described as a “personal and intimate proposal.”
Jutes and Lovato’s love story began in January 2022 when they met while co-writing music for Lovato’s Holy Fvck album. Jutes contributed to several tracks, including "Substance," "Happy Ending," and "City of Angels."
Speaking about their relationship, Lovato revealed in an interview with SiriusXM’s The Morning Mash Up that they started as friends before their romance blossomed. “We became friends first,” Lovato shared. “We were friends for several months and then we decided to start dating after we told each other how we felt.”

The couple has frequently expressed admiration for one another. In September, at the screening of the documentary Child Star, Lovato reflected on their connection, telling PEOPLE, “I’ve waited my whole life for him. It’s very grounding to have a partner who is so supportive, so loving, so caring. It’s easy to stay centered with him because I love him so much, and he treats me so amazing.”
Jutes echoed Lovato’s sentiments, speaking in October about their wedding plans. The couple is taking a relaxed approach, choosing to savor their engagement rather than rushing to the altar. “We’re not trying to stress ourselves out,” Jutes told PEOPLE. “A lot of weddings can be stressful and very quick, so we’re on it, but we’re also taking our time and enjoying being engaged.”
“We’re not skipping engagement to get right to the wedding,” he added. “We’ll be married forever, so we just want to enjoy every step.”
With their love story continuing to unfold, the couple is taking their time, savoring the milestones along the way to their big day.
