In Case You Wanted To Know, Here’s How You Make Rachel’s Trifle From “Friends”

Let’s just hope it doesn’t actually taste like feet…

Fans of the popular ‘90s sitcom Friends may remember the episode in which Rachel attempts to cook dessert for Ross’s parents.

She makes a trifle, filled with delicious ingredients like ladyfingers, custard (made from scratch), raspberries, bananas… and ground beef sautéed with peas and onions.

As the episode progresses, we find out that Rachel had accidentally combined the recipes for trifle and shepherd’s pie. Ross tries it anyway, and comes to the verdict that it “tastes like feet”.

In the latest video on his channel, Oliver Babish of Binging with Babish explores this unusual dish (which, thankfully, does not taste like feet), and suggests some possible improvements.
