James Wan is the genius behind The Conjuring, but two other horror masters—Gary Dauberman and David F. Sandberg—have made the universe even better. They helped create some of the scariest spin-offs and are now working together again on a new movie based on the hit game Until Dawn.

Gary Dauberman Wrote the Spin-Offs
Dauberman wrote most of the Conjuring spin-offs, like Annabelle, The Nun, and Annabelle Comes Home (which he also directed). He helped build the creepy backstories and made the universe feel bigger and darker.
Annabelle: Creation Was a Hit

In 2017, Dauberman teamed up with Sandberg to make Annabelle: Creation. It was scarier and better than the first Annabelle. Sandberg, known for Lights Out, directed it with great suspense and creepy vibes. It’s still a fan favorite and the highest-rated spin-off.
They’re Back for Until Dawn
Now, the two are working together again on Until Dawn, a new horror movie based on the popular 2015 video game. Instead of copying the game exactly, they’ve created a new version of the story that still honors what fans loved. Sandberg said he liked that Dauberman didn’t try to just remake the game.
Not Just James Wan’s Universe
Wan started it all, but Dauberman and Sandberg helped turn The Conjuring Universe into something special. With Until Dawn coming soon, these two horror pros are ready to scare us all over again.
