John Cena revealed he underwent a hair transplant after being mocked by wrestling fans for his thinning hair. During a live taping of The Pat McAfee Show on April 21, the WWE star said the relentless teasing pushed him to get the procedure in November 2024. "You guys ripped me to shreds for a genetic problem I can’t control," he joked. "Thank you for bullying me into surgical hair replacement."

Cena said doctors took hair from the sides of his head to fill in the top, and he’s now waiting for it to grow in. “It’s a work in progress,” he told the crowd, adding there’s “no shame” in trying to fix something that bothers you.
The 47-year-old also addressed another long-standing issue: his inability to grow facial hair. “I haven’t shaved in 10 years,” he laughed, saying he still can’t grow a mustache even now. “Maybe I’ll need a transplant for that too.”
Despite the jokes and fan criticism, Cena seemed to take it all in stride, turning the experience into a light-hearted moment. “I got a problem. I try to fix it,” he said with a smile.
The WWE icon, who just made history with a win over Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41, continues to be open with fans, using humor and honesty to talk about personal challenges—even when they involve hairlines and mustaches.
