Three years after her divorce from Brandon Blackstock, Kelly Clarkson is embracing the chaos of single motherhood—and staying open to love, when time allows.

kelly clarkson says she’s not ruling out love—just really busy being a mom

Appearing on Today with Jenna and Friends on May 6, Clarkson revealed she’s not actively searching for romance, but she’s not ruling it out either.

“I’m not not looking, and I’m not looking,” she told Jenna Bush Hager and Matt Rogers. “I’m just really busy. Between my show and my kids’ schedules, there’s barely time to breathe.”

The Grammy-winning singer shares daughter River, 10, and son Remy, 8, with her ex-husband, and said that juggling everything is a full-time job in itself. “My kids’ schedule feels busier than mine,” she joked. “I’m constantly running between my show and baseball practice.”

Despite the hustle, Clarkson is learning to carve out moments for herself. “We’re a cute little unit,” she said of her family. “But I’m trying to adult more. This Mother’s Day, I’ll be performing, and my kids won’t be there—so I’ll get some grown-up time with the band.”

Her dating life has been a topic of curiosity among fans—especially after the release of her new music video for “Where Have You Been?” in which she dons a dramatic sheer gown.

Still, Clarkson acknowledged that her kids aren’t exactly ready to see her with someone new. “They constantly say, ‘We don’t want you with anybody else,’” she shared in a previous interview. “But I’ve told them, ‘Hey, I love you—but Mommy needs lovings too.’”
