Malaysians are staying strong despite having to celebrate Raya privately at home. All these time at home is only bringing out better and better content to the eyes of scrollers.
An animated short film was recently released based on the short fantasy comic created by Kwan Thung Seng and Robertson Sondoh Jr; depicting the local folklore in Sabah. The artist shared a few of his original comics on his Facebook page, while celebrating the film’s release.
Aimed at stirring interest towards Borneo’s culture and heritage, the short film also indirectly tells us how selfish and ignorant behaviours can bring damage to our world.
Director, Geoffrey Sinn hints that a series based on the comic might be in the works but nothing’s black and white just yet.
The use of Kadazan language is mostly a way of appreciating Sabah’s indigenous tribe’s culture and heritage as well as to give local animation talents the credits they deserve.
Here’s the short film for your viewing pleasure:
What do you think of this? We are definitely proud of our fellow Malaysians!
