The Malaysian government has approved a 50% toll discount in conjunction with Chinese New Year 2025. This announcement, made following a Cabinet meeting, reflects the MADANI administration’s ongoing commitment to fostering unity and enhancing public welfare.

The toll discount, which will cost the government approximately RM20.08 million in compensation to toll concessionaires, continues the festive toll assistance program introduced in 2023. Since its inception, the program has provided free tolls during major festivals, incurring a total expenditure of RM356.18 million as of 2024.
The 50% discount will be available from 12:01 am on January 27, 2025 (Monday), until 11:59 pm on January 28, 2025 (Tuesday). It applies to Class 1 private vehicles at all toll plazas nationwide, with the exception of border plazas, namely the Sultan Iskandar Building Toll Plaza (BSI) on the North-South Expressway (PLUS) and the Tanjung Kupang Toll Plaza on the Malaysia-Singapore Second Link (LINKEDUA).
This initiative underscores the government’s dedication to easing the financial burden on citizens and ensuring a more joyful festive season for all.
