Parking fees are usually clearly displayed when we park in public areas, but one woman received an unexpected shock when she went to pay for her car's stay at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1's Preferred Parking.

In a TikTok video shared by @yaya.tasha, the woman documented her visit to the autopay machine to settle her parking fee.
After entering her car's number plate, the machine displayed her car's image along with the time it had been parked. According to the time stamp, she had parked at the Preferred Parking area from 3:39 AM on December 31, 2024, and exited on January 13, 2025, at 9:39 PM—totaling 13 days and 8 hours.
To her surprise, the amount shown on the screen was a shocking RM2,084!
Stunned by the hefty charge, she captioned the video, "Not sure whether I should laugh or cry." The video quickly gained over 400,000 views, with viewers reacting in disbelief to the steep parking fee.
One user commented, "The hell? RM2k for 13 days of parking? Even parking at 5-star facilities doesn’t cost that much in Wangsa Maju!" Another added, "She could pay for car installments with that amount!"
Some netizens questioned why she opted for the Preferred Parking when there were cheaper parking options available.
Do you think the parking fee was too high or it’s considered a standard parking bill?
